On this day 50 years ago, the Civil Rights Act was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson -- Laura Cole pays a visit to the MLK Memorial and the National Archives to interview people on what this turning point in history means to them. Also, Brian is joined by Dean Nelson of the Frederick Douglass Foundation to discuss the legacy of the Civil Rights Act. Pope Francis has officially added a ninth cardinal - Secretary of State Pietro Parolin - to his council of advisers as they continue working relentlessly on reforming the Curia -- Alan Holdren reports from Rome with the details. Brian is joined by author Naomi Schaefer Riley to discuss her new book, Got Religion? and what churches can do to attract and retain young parishioners. Finally, Brian talks via Skype to film critic Steven Greydanus of Decent Films Guide about the new movie, Deliver Us From Evil.
