Geraldo: It's 'Provable' That Media Avoid Identifying Party of Corrupt Democrats
Fox News Channel host Geraldo Rivera was asked by the hosts of Fox & Friends on Friday for his take on a variety of criminal allegations against state-level Democratic politicians and how the political press was covering those scandals. Rivera said it was "provable" that the media generally fails to mention party affiliations when the politician implicated in a scandal is a Democrat and that Fox is the "antidote" to this condition.
"There is no doubt, it is undeniable, that the mainstream media is more liberal than anything else," Rivera asserted. "There is an instinct among the liberal, probably mostly Democratic, mainstream media to portray republicans as hypocrites and–"
"–Evildoers," Fox host Steve Doocy interjected.
Rivera said that the media has a tendency to avoid labeling Democrats involved in scandals with their party affiliation. "There is no doubt about that," Rivera continued. "No one can realistically deny it. It is provable."
"Rather than try to talk around it, cop to it," he continued.
"Usually, the politicians who are robbing on the democratic side tend to be ethnic politicians, as in these cases," he continued. Rivera added that this provides the press with a "politically correct" reason to avoid labeling the alleged offenders with the Democratic Party label. "We are the antidote to that particular problem," he concluded.
