Nebraska woman gets jail time for posing naked at Catholic high school
A Lincoln woman must serve a 45-day jail sentence for sneaking onto the campus of the Catholic high school she once attended and posing naked for her adult website, a judge ruled Friday.
Lancaster County Judge Thomas Fox ordered Valerie Dodds to serve 30 days in jail for trespassing and 15 for public nudity. Her attorney said he has already filed notice for an appeal, and she was expected to be released Friday evening after a $75 posting bond.
Prosecutors said Dodds, 19, has shown no remorse for the late-night photo shoot at Lincoln's Pius X High School in May. Lincoln police have declined to comment on the case, saying it would only generate more publicity for her business.
Dodds posed around the school's football field. The photos were later posted on her website, where she performs under the stage name Val Midwest. Dodds has said the photo shoot was revenge against students and teachers at her former school who gave her grief when she shared her plans to go into pornography.
With good-time credit on the trespassing conviction, Dodds is expected to spend 36 days in jail if her conviction is upheld.
"She was upset. She was crying," defense attorney Chad Wythers said after the sentencing. "Based on her comments to me, I don't think she felt that the punishment fit the crime."
Then again, "thinking" was probably never Val's strong suit to begin with...

People unfamiliar with New York City politics may not realize that it is theoretically possible (and was, prior to last week, quite likely) that Beavis and Butthead Weiner and Spitzer would be part of the same Democrat ticket. I've borrowed the headline from a recent Pat Buchanan column because it's hilarious. His point is that far from being some sort of weird outliers, Carlos Danger and Client No. 9 Weiner and Spitzer are actually part of the liberal mainstream.
But the front-runner in the New York mayor's race today quit Congress as a serial texter of lewd photos to anonymous women. The front-runner in the city comptroller's race was "Client No. 9" in the prostitution ring of the convicted madam who is running against him.
Weiner's strongest challenger for mayor is a lesbian about to marry another lesbian. The sitting mayor and governor are divorced and living with women not their wives. The former mayor's second wife had to go to court to stop his girlfriend from showing up at Gracie Mansion.
Weiner looks like a mainstream liberal.
On cable channels we hear cries that Weiner is "mentally sick." Ex-colleague Rep. Jerrold Nadler says Weiner needs "psychiatric help."
Whoa, Jerry. Up to 1973, the American Psychiatric Association said homosexuality was a mental disorder. The APA now regrets that. And why is Weiner's private sexting a sign of mental illness, when kids all over America are engaged in the same thing every day?
Are we, possibly, a mentally and morally sick society?

While looking for another story, this one caught my eye when I noticed the headline: Nebraska Catholic school 'praying' after former student masturbates with crucifix
A Catholic school in Nebraska says it is praying for a former student who returned to campus to take nude photos and masturbate with a crucifix.
Valerie Dodds, 19, told KETV that she started a nude photography business after graduating from Lincoln East High School. But she said some her classmates from her former school, St. Pius X High School, started "saying mean things and that's when I decided to go there and show them that I'm here to stay."
"Everyone at my high school had something rude to say to me when I started my website and so this is my tribute to all of you lol," Dodds writes on her website. "I held nothing back I used my fingers, my toys and even my crucifix in my pussy! I used every part of the school I could get into, payback is a bitch ha ha."
Wow. That's hysterical...
The KETV story refers to her "nude photograph business." By which they mean she started her own porn site. Why?
"It looked like something that I just kind of wanted to try, I guess."
When you watch the video of the news report you will see the scumbag who is largely responsible for this nonsense. He's been down this road before.
For the record, I'm not judging her at all. I'm actually a little surprised that I'm not more outraged by her method of "revenge" on the school. It's more of a sad feeling. I hate to think of what may have happened in her life that would make this seem like an attractive option.
I'm sure she feels empowered by what she's doing. And the truth is that there are some superficial, short-term benefits to the porn business. There's money to be made and some people just have a compulsion to exhibit themselves like this. Ultimately, however, the potential for self-destruction far outweighs the chances of this ending well for her. It could go either way. Time will tell.
In the meantime, she seems so happy and pleased with herself that it would be downright cruel to burst her bubble by letting her know that the school and the Church will be just fine. Hopefully she will be as well.
