THE NARRATIVE AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen. -George Orwell

THREE MARTINI LUNCH: JUNE 2, 2014

Jim and Greg discuss all things Bowe Berghdal: They like that he's free, dislike the price of five hardened terrorists or that Obama flouted the law, and worry that more releases may well be on the way.

Bergdahl Reportedly Investigated as 'Active Collaborator with the Enemy'
Following U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl's disappearance, a report claims, he was the subject of an investigation by Defense Department officials as to whether or not he had worked in collusion with his Taliban captors. According to the report from Fox News journalist James Rosen, federal agencies have questioned Bergdahl's loyalties in the past.
"[T]he Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy," the report reads.
The report goes on to question whether the president's office had done the appropriate diligence before allowing the president to deliver a Rose Garden address next to Bergdahl's father, Robert Bergdahl.
In fact, administration officials were reportedly "baffled" by the decision to allow Obama to appear next to someone who has said controversial and inflammatory things and allegedly communicated with Taliban representatives.
