THE NARRATIVE AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen. -George Orwell

  1. I may finally have that aneurysm that I've been postponing for so long, after reading that trite piece of introspective garbage by Jeff Jarvis, titled "As A Democrat, I Am Disgusted With Obama".

He begins the piece with the requisite liberal hand wringing over the direction the 'prez' ( I personally cannot use that full word for 0bama, so...) has taken of late, but you cannot predicate anything on a lie, and expect it to hold together to a logical conclusion, can you?

Jarvis chose to wait until his fifth paragraph to identify himself as a journalist, and to excuse his lack of action at the same time, and what a telling paragraph that is. The snake consuming its tail begins with that one run-on sentence, and the way he ends it: "..its (journalism's) tasks of keeping a watchful eye on (0bama) and helping to assure an informed citizenry."

The fatal flaw in Jarvis' attempt to acquit himself and his fellows lies here, and it cannot be covered up; it's that journalism has had all of these 6+ years since 0bama squared off against the other Democrats vying for the same position, to do their job and find out the truth about him, and they have done nothing of the sort.

In more ways than anyone could possibly count, American journalists protected him instead of reporting on his actions, have lied for 0bama, have attacked anyone who might try to investigate him, his background or the many hundreds of inconsistencies in his stories about himself. From the outright lies and exaggerations contained in his preening autobiographies, the multiple Social Security cards attributed to his name, the outright lies about his associations with terrorists, killers, and America hating pastors, there were uncounted avenues that journalism could have investigated, a target-rich environment. And this is just about the man, himself; we're not even talking about all of the illegalities, indignities and disgraceful acts he has heaped upon Americans, and the high office he holds.

But, by using the DOJ's investigation of (real) reporter James Rosen's emails and activities on a story about NOKO as a classic misdirection ploy, Jarvis thinks that he is demonstrating that all of journalism has been under a heavy censorship thumb from the beginning, it would seem.

The truth is, that Jarvis and his ilk abdicated their duties, early on, and they've given this race baiter, this community organizer free rein in everything he does and has done. And now that the genie is out of the bottle, and there's no way to stuff it back in, he's ingenuously pushing back from the table, sighing mightily and acting as if he had nothing to do with letting out the stopper.

America knows better, Jarvis. No one will ever believe you hereafter, and you will never have the influence you once had, ever again.
