THE NARRATIVE AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen. -George Orwell

SENATE FILIBUSTER NUCLEAR OPTION 2013 REMIX

Harry Reid then: "My Republican colleagues claim that nominees are entitled to an up-down vote. That claim ignores history, including recent history."

Harry Reid now: "These nominees deserve at least an up-or-down vote. But Republican filibusters deny them a fair vote and deny the president his team."

So, what really happened in the past eight years to cause such blatant and unforgivable hypocrisy?  The Democrats have their false narratives and their revisionist history but the fact of the matter is that only one thing has changed since 2005:  The Democrats became the majority party in the Senate.  If you believe anything else, then you really need to kick the Kool-aid habit and give reality another chance.

  1. Nicely presented!
...and if anyone believes for a moment this will remain limited to Circuit Court appointees and the like, they're as delusional as the hypocrisy-deniers.

  2. An assortment of Democrat "deep thinkers" from 2005 and their amnesia that resulted in yesterday's vote to approve "Hypocrisy on Steroids". http://caffeinatedthoughts.com/2013/11/democrats-have-amnesia-about-using-the-nuclear-option-ending-filibusters/

What is SOOOO maddening is that when Republicans take back the Senate and even think about following this rule change, you know the GOP will raise the white flag under enormous pressure from the Obama Media Group/Dems and restore filibuster. The naked hypocritical flip-flop of the Dems will be met with *crickets* (as it is today) except from the New Media. The real power in this country is quickly becoming the Judicial Branch of government. A case could be made that it has already taken place. Our rulers are going to be hordes of radical left-wing judges. Any law passed by a Republican administration/Congress will be ruled unconstitutional.

  3. Isn't it amazing... nominees were mostly rubber-stamped by both parties until Ted Kennedy got up on the Senate floor and on national television to condemn "Robert Bork's America" and block his nomination. After that, every appointment became fair game. It was the Democrats who began the practice of "denying the President his team," and now they want to change it.
