THE NARRATIVE AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen. -George Orwell

A DEBATE ON IRELAND'S MARRIAGE REFERENDUM

The Republic of Ireland is holding a national referendum today regarding same-sex "marriage" and whether or not it should be a right under the Irish constitution. Essentially, the Irish will decide through a popular vote what the Supreme Court will decide for us next month here in the States.

The debate below took place last week in anticipation of today's crucial vote. It will give you a decent understanding of what is at stake. It's not just about SSM itself but also the consequences for natural families and children should the YES campaign be successful. In this debate, Patrick Treacy (representing the NO campaign) made the better argument.
