ROBERT EMMET'S SPEECH FROM THE DOCK - 1803

  1. After listening to Robert Emmet's powerful, unselfish ("When my country takes her place among the nations of the earth, then shall my character be vindicated, then may my epitaph be written".) and historical speech given just before his execution, I did some cursory research and discovered that the Emmet family, while Protestant, were sympathetic with the Irish Catholics because of their unfair representation in Parliament. Similarly, they were supporters of the American Revolution.
