A subject was addressed in the Eamonn Ceannt portion of this episode that I have been pondering from the beginning. Quotes from Part 8 illuminate this point - "Perhaps divinity and old beliefs were stronger in these men than they are in Irish people today." and "They died for the good of the country, not the individual."
